Choosing Clothes for Your Toddler the Right Way

When your baby begins to move around, you need to shop for comfortable clothes that will not inhibit his movement. Here is a simple guide on what to shop for.

For daytime wear, buy him some T-shirts with shoulder snaps and straight-cut overalls with adjustable straps. Do not let him wear pants with garters since they constrict his abdomen. In addition, you can sew pads inside the overall's knees to avoid scrapes when he falls or crawls. If your child is a girl, you can let her wear dresses when she learns how to walk.

Shop for sweaters as well that slip over the head and zip in the back. In the case of jackets, choose those that can snap or zip in the front. For sleepwear, choose two-piece pyjamas since your toddler would most likely outgrow one-piece ones. For girls, sleeping gowns are perfect because they allow for growth. When your child begins to walk, choose separate tops and bottoms. Not only are these comfortable, separate pieces of clothing will make it easier for your kid to use the toilet. Additionally, opt for pants that can easily be taken off to make toilet training easier.

For winter clothing, purchase a coat with a drawstring hood. Coats with large buttons or loops are also ideal for they are easier to fasten by your child. Do not, however, let him wear a scarf because this poses a strangulation risk. Lastly, do not forget your child's underwear. Shop for cotton ones since they allow the skin to breathe.
